How is your school year going so far? Are you relaxed and glad to have some normalcy back, or does it still feel crazy and stressful? I just want to encourage you today to continue taking it a step at a time. That may seem cliché, but it is soooooo true. Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) says, “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” To me that says we may not see the entire journey, but God will continue to show us step by step, day by day, how to move forward. His desire is for us to be filled with His love, joy, peace, and so on as it talks about in Galatians 5:22-23.
We can choose to let stress and the volatile and ever-changing climate in which we live seep into our minds and hearts and that will lead to being frazzled and frustrated. Or, we can choose to seek and trust God and allow Him to provide a fresh Word for us each morning (aren’t you glad that His mercies are new every morning?) and allow Him to refresh us for each task at hand – making sure our children are learning (whatever schooling choice you have decided to follow), figuring out how to run our homes, and being motivated to continue to do our jobs with excellence.
I want to challenge and encourage you to speak life and uplifting words into your children. Pray over them daily for protection physically AND also emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. These are new times for all of us. God wants us to lead our families well with His authority and direction. I know we want our children to excel academically, but the even more important lessons that we can teach them are how to navigate this life and time with faith in God and determination that we will do what God says to do no matter what. Let’s lead our children well during this time.
